Brand new solution in order to comply with the Safety Regulations in open cast mines by “The RTL Service” Group

The key necessity that mining and exploration companies may face is the compliance with the safety regulation requirements. The “RTL Service” Group has developed a unique system that guarantees this compliance, enables to increase labor security in open pits, reduce labor traumatism and accidents.

The solution is based on a new version of the RealTrac 3.0 local positioning system that monitors the location of the personnel, vehicles and other equipment. The system manager can indicate hazardous areas on the open pit map, and the system will notify the workers that they should leave this area. A worker receives audiovisual signal from the personal tag and leaves the hazardous area.

The system also provides digital voice communication between personnel and a system manager. It facilitates issuing warnings and providing information on the path and direction of the movements. Fast exchange of the information improves the staff management and increases labor efficiency.

The device for monitoring the position can be implemented on vehicles, special and other equipment. It helps to track the equipment and receive information on how it is currently used. For example, open pit regulations require compliance with the speed limits for the vehicles. The system displays the speed and the route of a vehicle and detects violations of the speed limits or of the restricted areas.

Upgrade proximity detection system (PDS)

The RealTrac 3.0 system has an upgraded proximity detection function. In case of a dangerous proximity to the working equipment, open pit dump trackers, dozers, excavators, the system will issue a warning. The alarm signal will be sent to a personal tag.

Support GPS and GLONASS trackers

A new version of the system also supports trackers based on GLONASS and GPS systems. So, the positioning of objects can be detected not only by the algorithms of the system itself but also with the help of global positioning systems. It ensures high positioning accuracy within the open pit even if the level of signal distortions and measurement errors is very high.
