RealTrac introduces new personal tag PROD TAG 411: positioning and CAS in one device

RealTrac is expanding its underground safety portfolio with the launch of the PROD TAG 411 personal tag for mining operations. The new device combines precise UWB positioning and a CAS (Collision Avoidance System) in a compact tag that mounts on a miner’s helmet or cap lamp cable and is designed to operate in harsh underground conditions.

PROD TAG 411 addresses two tasks at once: precise personnel positioning and monitoring of dangerous proximity to vehicles within the CAS. The extended UWB positioning range of up to 100 m from access points makes it possible to reliably track workers’ locations in underground drifts.

Bright, directional light indication and loud audible alerts support five modes: global alarm, entry into a danger zone, red and yellow CAS zones, and individual notifications. This ensures that the miner receives clear and visible signals exactly at the moment of danger.

PROD TAG 411 features audible indication with several alert modes that help the miner immediately recognize the type of hazard or important notification. The tag is also equipped with a raised panic button: a short press is used to acknowledge receipt of a signal, while a longer press sends an alarm to the dispatcher and triggers an emergency notification scenario.

The built‑in accelerometer and pedometer detect falls and prolonged lack of movement and also help reconstruct the worker’s route more accurately. Two‑way BLE communication with wristbands and tags in workwear makes it possible to acknowledge alarms and control the presence of people within the visibility zone of machinery.

The tag is powered from the cap lamp battery and provides at least 12 hours of operation under continuous UWB positioning. The IP67 protection rating, operating temperature range from −40 to +50 °C, and the option of explosion‑proof design make PROD TAG 411 a reliable solution for Russian mines.
