Equipment and asset location monitoring
A core function of the modular RealTrac local positioning system is locating objects indoors. You always know where equipment, tools, pallets and other tagged objects are.
Two types of positioning can be used to determine the location.
Positioning types
Zonal positioning
The location is determined approximately, with an accuracy of 1–3 metres. This shows roughly which zone the object is in.
Precise positioning
The location is determined with high-precision positioning technology, with an accuracy of up to 10–20 centimetres. This shows exactly where the monitored object is right now.
How location is determined
The tag is mounted on a visible part of the monitored object, and the access points measure the distance to it. The access points send these distances to the RealTrac server, which calculates the current location of the tag. The system then stores the location in the database and provides it to the dispatcher as live data or reports.
