RealTrac Surround View System (SVS) for heavy vehicles
RealTrac Surround View System (SVS) gives the operator (driver) full visibility around the vehicle. The system builds a panoramic image by combining the video streams from four wide-angle cameras installed around the vehicle.
The technology provides blind-spot monitoring and safe maneuvering even in poor visibility: dust, rain, fog, at night or on confined sites.
The system is used on haul trucks, excavators, loaders, bulldozers and other large vehicles up to 15 meters long.
Tasks solved
Safer traffic
Full visibility around the vehicle: blind-spot monitoring while driving and maneuvering.
Driver support during maneuvers
Precise vehicle positioning during loading, unloading, turning and reversing.
Production process control
The video stream can be recorded to analyze the work of operators and service crews.
Lower operating costs
Fewer collisions, less vehicle damage and less repair downtime.
Integration with safety systems
RealTrac Collision Avoidance System (CAS), RealTrac Positioning (RTLS), RealTrac Driver Monitoring System (DMS).
Key benefits
- Prevents collisions when maneuvering in confined spaces.
- Helps position the vehicle precisely during loading, unloading, turning and reversing.
- Makes driving easier in narrow passages and on sites with poor visibility: dust, rain, fog, night.
- Supports training and analysis of operators' work, since the video stream can be recorded.
- Also makes it possible to monitor the work of service crews.
RealTrac SVS interface
While the vehicle is moving, the screen shows the images from the four surround view cameras: front, rear, left and right. When necessary, the operator can switch the screen to the camera facing the right side of the vehicle: the edge monitoring mode.
Integration with RealTrac CAS
About RealTrac CASWhen RealTrac SVS is integrated with RealTrac Collision Avoidance System (CAS), the screen not only shows the camera images but also highlights in color the side where RealTrac CAS has detected an object.
Benefits
The integration of RealTrac CAS and RealTrac SVS creates a comprehensive solution for safety and situational awareness of mining vehicle operators.
This approach combines object detection by RealTrac CAS, shown on the screen, with a visual image from each camera when the operator needs to maneuver in difficult conditions or monitor driving along the edge.

Wide-angle camera
Full HD digital camera with a fisheye lens, field of view up to 180°, IP67 / IP69K protection.

Video recorder
Real-time panoramic stitching of the video stream, recording to an SD card or SSD, CAN, Ethernet and RS-485 interfaces.
Additional capabilities
RealTrac DMSRealTrac SVS can also be used for driver fatigue and distraction monitoring as part of a project solution with RealTrac Driver Monitoring System (DMS): video from the surround view cameras is synchronized with the RealTrac DMS camera, so during an incident both the driver's behavior and the situation around the vehicle are visible at the same time.
